The imbalance with Japan was $68.8 billion, relatively unchanged. And with Germany it was $64.3 billion, a decline of $10.6 billion from 2015. The United States has a trade deficit of $67.6 billion with Japan. Vehicles and industrial supplies are among the primary imports that the U.S. acquires from Japan. The U.S. also has a $20 billion trade deficit with Canada. While the U.S. exports vehicles, petroleum, and auto parts, it imports more crude oil and gas from Canada.
